Covalent.
What is the shape of water?
It is an oxygen molecule with two smaller hydrogen molecules latched on, which I think kind of looks like a bra.
Why does water stick to itself?
Water molecules stick to each other by use of hydrogen bonds, which is a form of covalent bonding.
Why does water not stick to or mix with oil?
Water is polar molecule. One side is positive while the other side is negative, oxygen being the negative side and hydrogen being the positive side, because oxygen has more electronegativity than hydrogen. Oil is not charged and it doesn't mix because it is non-polar. Polar molecules mix with other polar molecules and non-polar molecules mix with non-polar molecules.
