Show a chemical structure for soap.
What is unique about the polarity of soap?
It has one neutral non-attracting end and one end that attracts. So one end repels water and one end attracts water. It is a surfactant.
How does soap work?
Soap helps to separate the oil molecules so they are no longer attracted to each other. It also acts as a bridge between the oil and water molecules so that the dirty oil can be washed away with the water.
