Activity 1 1-11-11

Describe something that you have learned.

How did that process occur?
I am already somewhat familiar with the processes through which we learn  because of my cognitive neuroscience minor. I have already been surprised that in this class you use actually good techniques to get people to remember something. You have people relate it to their lives, and the more connections you have with any memory the better the chance you will be able to retrieve that memory later. So when I try to remember something, lets say remembering the difference between classical and operant conditioning. You use certain ideas to connect to these ideas. So for operant conditioning I figured it is for an animals operations that you must do it. It is how you train them, with punishment and reward, so that they behave in a certain way. Classical conditioning is classical in that you do it just for shits and giggles. You get your dogs to salivate while eating because it's cool. You also have to make sure to get good sleep because research shows that you consolidate your memories during sleep.
